From November 21 to 23, 2025, the 11th National Finals of the China Undergraduate Physics Experiment Competition (Innovation) successfully concluded at Central South University. The competition has always prioritized high-quality works and restricted each university to a maximum of six participating teams, resulting in extremely fierce competition. After intense competitions in online and offline defense sessions, students from our university achieved excellent results: 1 National First Prize, 2 National Second Prizes, and 2 National Third Prizes. Ranking among the top of provincial universities, this achievement has greatly enhanced the influence of Wuhan Institute of Technology in national physics experiment teaching!

As one of the most challenging and influential physics-related discipline competitions in China, the China Undergraduate Physics Experiment Competition (Innovation) sets three major tracks: Proposed Topics, Self-Designed Topics, and Physics Experiment Teaching. It aims to fully stimulate college students' enthusiasm for innovation in physics experiments and cultivate their practical and teamwork abilities. At the initial stage of the competition, students from our university actively signed up to participate. The participants covered students from various engineering majors across the university, including the School of Optoelectronic Information and Energy Engineering, the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, the School of Computer Science and Engineering, the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Materials Science and Engineering, the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, and the School of Art and Design. This interdisciplinary team-building model is more conducive to fostering engineering practical capabilities and innovative thinking. After the university-level preliminary competition, the selected teams participated in the provincial competition, achieving excellent results: 1 Provincial First Prize, 7 Provincial Second Prizes, and 6 Provincial Third Prizes. Subsequently, 6 outstanding teams were selected from them to participate in the national competition.

In recent years, our school has attached great importance to basic disciplines and practical teaching. It has further focused on building an integrated collaborative education system that organically combines curriculum teaching, industrial practice, and innovation and entrepreneurship competitions. This system has effectively broken down the separation between industry, academia, and research as well as professional barriers, enhanced students' engineering literacy, practical capabilities, and innovative spirit, and strived to cultivate top-notch innovative engineering talents in the context of the new era. Since the launch of the competition, the School has attached high priority to it. Teachers and students from the Provincial Physics Experiment Teaching Demonstration Center have actively prepared for the competition, undergoing nearly a year of high-difficulty and high-intensity training with a pursuit of excellence. Gradually, an effective teaching system for cultivating high-quality basic innovative talents has been formed, making contributions to the construction of high-quality talents in our university and the implementation of the national "Top Talent Training Program"!
