To guide young students to deeply cultivate their love for the Party, the country and the university, and to promote the spirit of the Constitution, the School of Optoelectronic Information and Energy Engineering (School of Mathematics and Physics) successfully held the 11th Knowledge Contest on the Party History and University Affairs themed "Learning History to Understand Principles and Uphold Original Aspirations, Knowing and Loving the University to Fulfil Missions" in Activity Room A3 of the Bell Tower on December 4, on the occasion of the 12th National Constitution Day. Xu Bei, counselor of the 2024 grade, together with representatives of participating student Party branches of the school, took part in this activity.
The competition was divided into three segments: round-robin mandatory questions, opportunity-based rush questions, and one-on-one challenge questions, with all participating teams engaging in intense competition.
In the first segment, Round-Robin Mandatory Questions, each Party branch took turns to answer questions, demonstrating solid academic grounding and a rich reserve of knowledge regarding the Party history and university affairs. Every student thought earnestly and responded calmly, scoring crucial basic points for their team.
The second segment, Opportunity-Based Rush Questions, put the quick wit and rapid response of each branch to the test. Some teams felt regretful for violating the rules and missing opportunities due to hasty buzzer presses, while others rejoiced in successfully seizing the chances and giving correct answers. The venue was bustling with excitement, and the competition remained neck and neck.
The final segment, One-on-One Challenge Questions, posed a great test of the teams’ strategic planning and psychological resilience: some teams turned the tide against all odds, while others excelled in both offense and defense. The representatives of each branch rose to the challenge bravely, making a last-ditch effort for the honor of their teams.

This contest promoted learning through competition and practice through learning. It not only built a platform for students to learn, communicate and show their talents, but also further stimulated the enthusiasm of all students in the college for loving the country, the Party and the university, and enhanced their sense of collective honor and historical mission. Moving forward, the college will continue to innovate learning forms and enrich learning content, guiding young students to strengthen their ideals and beliefs through learning, thinking, practicing and comprehending, fulfill their original aspirations and missions in striving for progress, and inject youthful vitality into the high-quality development of the university.
