Training Objectives
The Energy and Power Engineering major aims to cultivate well-rounded individuals with high professional qualities and innovative capabilities, focusing on developing technical talents with solid theoretical and professional knowledge in the field of energy and power engineering. The goal is to train advanced research and technical talents with pioneering awareness and international vision for scientific research, product development, engineering application, and production management in the related fields of energy and power engineering.
After four years of study, students will acquire the following knowledge, abilities, and qualities:
1) Knowledge: Systematically master the relevant theoretical knowledge in the field of energy and power engineering, including solid mathematical and physical foundations, professional knowledge in energy and power, and theoretical knowledge required for engineering design and software development.
2) Abilities: Be proficient in a foreign language, capable of reading professional literature, and have certain listening and speaking skills; possess strong self-study, expression, and problem-solving abilities. Be able to apply learned knowledge to model and conduct mathematical analysis of complex energy and power engineering problems, and have certain capabilities in scientific research, engineering design, and product development.

Professional Characteristics
The Energy and Power Engineering major of Wuhan Institute of Technology is a key discipline in Hubei Province, one of the first advantageous disciplines in Hubei Province, and a discipline with a "Chutian Scholar" position. It is a first-level discipline master's degree point in "Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics". It is a discipline with the characteristics of cultivating talents in energy, power, new energy, energy storage technology, refrigeration and cryogenics.
